Letting Go, Prosperity, Nature, and Prayer
Join us in March and April for a much-needed meditation on dealing with change, followed by a six-week series on Prosperity leading up to Easter Sunday, and finally, honoring nature and a look at the ways we pray.
March 1: Tell Me Why
In life, there is suffering. The Buddha said all suffering is a result of holding onto the things that change. When faced with that suffering personally, through pain, loss, anger, violence, fear– we as humans ask why. There is not an easy or glib answer, but I will honor and address the question to the best of my ability.
March 8: What You Seek is Seeking You
We tend to define prosperity as money and material goods. Money is only one outward expression of an infinite invisible energy, and there are infinite ways to express that energy. Let’s affirm them all!!
March 15: Give That Which You Wish to Receive
The law of Karma, or cause and effect means that what you set in motion will come back to you. You want to be happy, make others happy, you want peace, be peaceful, you want love, give love. This is the way to a truly abundant life.
March 22: Let Go: Don’t Block the Flow
Another word for prosperity is “affluence,” which indicates a flow of energy. The energy is always flowing, but we can block it from our lives by holding onto things (even unconsciously) that do not serve us: grudges, old ideas of our worth, greed, fear. Let’s root them out and let them go.
March 29: Relinquish Judgment, Embrace Gratitude
What we resist persists. When we accept and respect the way things are, we are no longer wasting energy fighting the world. Then all our energy can be focused on love, and life becomes so much easier.
April 5: Palm Sunday: What Are You Waiting For?
Only YOU can access your source of all power and love and good. As an expression of the Divine, You have access to the infinite power of the universe. Learn to tap into it claim it, use it.
April 10: Good Friday: The Work of Preparation, or The Hell in Between
Most are okay with adapting to new circumstance, or staying in the old—but the transition—the in-between place—can feel like hell. Jesus went through it, and we are going through a similar collective experience right now. While we are here, together, let’s look to the light at the end of the tunnel. April 12: Easter: Live Your Higher Purpose
Jesus knew at each step what was his to do because he fully understood who he was. This allowed him to face the challenges of life with calm and loving Presence. We, too, can walk that path of love and purpose. The story of Easter is one of triumph over hopelessness and pain. That triumph belongs to each one of us. Let’s celebrate! April 19: Honoring Mother Earth
Earth Day is this week. We honor Nature and our relationship to it by cherishing its gifts and giving back to it. We honor the earth by being grateful and mindful of Nature and Her resources, and exploring some practices from the Native traditions.
April 26: Help. Thanks. Wow.
A love note to beloved spiritual author Anne Lamott’s book of this title. Her assertion is that we only really need three prayers in life to be totally covered: Help (ask), Thanks (be grateful), Wow (don’t forget to experience the wonder of it all!).
Join us each Sunday for loving and accepting fellowship, uplifting message, and inspiring music! Children’s church now available!
