A metaphysical, nondenominational church
Located in Farmers Branch, TX
Cathedral of Light had its beginning in August 1985 when the newly formed Community Church of Religious Science held its first Sunday service at the Wyndham Hotel on Interstate 35 in Dallas, Texas, under the leadership of founder Rev. Kay Hunter. Over the more than 3 decades since, the church has moved several times: first to Northwest Highway in the Crossroads Shopping Center, where it soon grew to rent an entire building; then to a larger property in Carrollton, Texas just north of the city of Dallas; and finally in 2013, to our present location at 2570 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch. Over those years other changes took place, including our dissolution of formal ties with Religious science, so that we could become a fully independent entity.
The one thing that has never changed, however, is our motto of Teaching Only Love. Led by our new senior minister Rev. Melinda Wood Allen, we continue to hold services, teach classes and celebrate the Love that is in us all, lives through all, and has its expression as all.
When we say we welcome everyone, we mean EVERYONE, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race, creed, color, ethnicity, nationality.
The only requirement for belonging is the wish to be part of a community that teaches, lives and celebrates the unconditional love of an all-loving, ever-present God.
Come and join us! We’d love to get to know you!
