May 3: The “BE” Attitudes
“Blessed are you when…” What does it mean to be “blessed”? Are these attitudes of “being” still helpful and relevant to us today? For instance, why would anyone want to be meek, and how would those who are “inherit the earth”? We will explore the metaphysical meanings of Jesus’ great teaching from the Sermon on the Mount.
May 10: In the Arms of the Mother
How can we find balance for feminine energies while living in a primarily patriarchal society? How is the rising of the feminine influencing Western culture? For Mother’s Day we will once again explore the Divine Feminine, from the point of view of various women mystics of the ages.
May 17: What is Truth?
How do you know the Truth when you see/hear it? Is there more than one truth? At COOL, we “teach only love,” and in that teaching, reference many different sources. We will explore the guidelines from sorting out what is true from what is merely trendy, convenient, or culturally accepted.
May 24: Falling Into Grace
Traditional religion talks about being “saved by grace,” or in a “State of Grace” that’s your ticket into heaven. In metaphysics, we don’t believe in a traditional “heaven,” nor that we need to be “saved” by something outside ourselves. Let’s explore what “grace” does mean in New Thought.
May 31: A New Normal?
I keep hearing from others – and catching myself – thinking: “I’ll be glad when we get back to normal.” What does “normal” mean? Is there a true normal? What do I mean when I ask that? What is it I really miss, and can I find it, even if the world doesn’t cooperate in the way I think it should? This week, we’ll discuss ways to think about “norms” and how to survive—even thrive– in the new paradigm that is being created.
